Blinco.tech/Blinco Research

The other half of the company

Blinco Research works on physics and computing problems that do not belong to any client: simulation, instrumentation, methods. It sells nothing and takes no briefs. It exists because the interesting problems sit upstream of the product work, and what it finds flows back down into what we build.

Notes

Short and numbered

Notes are written when there is something worth writing: a method that held up, a model with its assumptions on the table, a negative result that saves someone else the week. They are short, and they show their working.

Runs while you read

The figure on the right is not a video. It is the Chenciner-Montgomery three-body choreography being integrated in your browser right now: three equal masses, Newtonian gravity, velocity Verlet at dt 10⁻³, chasing each other around a figure eight that mathematics guarantees and floating-point arithmetic slowly erodes.

Why it lives on a company website is explained in note 06.1. The short version: a known answer is the only honest ruler.
